The Donut Man

Happy Friday my sweets! Since the weekend is starting I’d like to tell you about one my favorite weekend destinations – The Donut Man in Glendora.Here’s an interesting fact: Did you know that Los Angeles has the highest per capita number of donut shops of any metropolitan area in the United States? Also the proper spelling of “donut” is “doughnut.” I wanted to point that out because today I’m going to use the spelling “donut” because I like the way it looks and it’s shorter so don’t get on to me about using this spelling. I’m a rebel, dang it!
Now with that out of the way, being that there are so many donut shops in LA county you can’t help but notice a donut shop that’s doing it a little bit different. The Donut Man has been in business since 1972 and is like a landmark in Glendora, a donut mecca if you will. One of the most amazing things about Donut Man are their seasonal donuts. In addition to your classic donut shapes and flavors, the Donut Man has 5 signature seasonal flavors – strawberry, peach, peanut butter, pumpkin and cream puff. I didn’t know that peanut butter and cream puffs had a season but if they do then those are my favorite seasons.
The Donut Man is especially famous for their strawberry and peach donuts that really are only available, well seasonally. Actually, last year I had been waiting for them to come out with their peach donut but there was an issue with last year’s peach crop and the peach donuts never came in season =( I’m crossing my fingers for this year! The Donut Man is a stickler for the quality of the fruits that they use which only means that when you get one of these fruit filled gems they are going to be as fresh as fresh can be! Also, do you see the size of these strawberries in this donut!? It’s heavenly!

Next time you’re in Glendora you HAVE to stop by the Donut Man and if you never find your self near Glendora then you just have to go out there.
